Entry #5: Tribute To A True Olympian

By Maureen O'Connor, Tru Vue® Marketing Manager

The Tru Frameable Moment™

Often an entire community is judged based on the performance of its athletic teams or even its star athlete. Luckily, one such community is represented by Edward Murtaugh, a determined competitor on the field and a positive, upbeat gentleman wherever he goes. Entry #5 displays Edward’s Gold Medal and all of the supporting memorabilia surrounding the triumph of his volleyball squad in the Special Olympics.

The Design

The piece features a Special Olympics jersey, gold medal, a letter from President Obama, a mayoral proclamation, a photo of Edward and more — all mounted at different depths on three different pieces of Optium Museum Acrylic®. The framer also used Optium Museum Acrylic to create a “skylight” along the top rail to optimize lighting.
