Brad Scott: TruLife® Acrylic versus Standard Acrylic

One of the questions that we get a lot about TruLife® Acrylic is “What are the differences between TruLife and your standard acrylic?” It’s a good question. In response, we usually speak to TruLife Acrylic being anti-reflective versus non-glare.

In addition, TruLife Acrylic provides conservation grade 99% UV protection, versus standard acrylics, which offer only up to 66% UV protection. It’s also abrasion resistant, and much easier to clean than its standard counterparts.

TruLife Acrylic is a premium product compared to standard acrylic and, therefore, it is more expensive to produce, and costs more to purchase. Still, that may answer the TruLife Acrylic versus standard acrylic question, but it doesn’t necessarily illustrate the differences very effectively.

TruLife Acrylic versus Standard Acrylic: According to Brad Scott

Brad Scott, a freelance commercial photographer, asked us that very question, but it wasn’t until he saw the product and result in real life that he truly understood what we meant.

In turn, Brad felt it would benefit other photographers and anyone else interested in acrylic products and face mounting if he explained the differences in a format and terms they’d understand.

“Tru Vue® is a company that I have been extremely impressed by since I received a sample of their Trulife Acrylic last year. I love their acrylic product so much I decided to collaborate with them with a sponsored video showing the difference between their Trulife Acrylic and other standard acrylics you may find in the marketplace, like non-glare acrylic.  The Trulife Acrylic prints are true masterpieces and are the way to go for high-end gallery prints or exhibition pieces.” – Brad Scott
