The Oscars isn’t the only big-name competition that will be bringing the stars out on the West Coast in the coming weeks. Tru Vue will be holding our All-Star Framing Competition at this year’s West Coast Art & Frame Expo in Las Vegas, January 28th through the 30th.
And, best of all, you get to help decide the competition winners.
This year, Tru Vue has brought back six past winners to help us celebrate nearly 50 years of all-star framing:
- Kosal Eang of Framed by Kosal
- Myrna Dow of High Desert Framework
- Michael Mixon of Hanging Around Hoover
- Donna Erwin of Columbia River Gallery
- Sarah Beckett of SB Framing Gallery
- Andrea Tucker of Cabinet of Curiosities
The Theme
The theme for this year’s competition is “Raise Your Craft to Raise Awareness.” We selected this theme because we believe that competitions like this have helped raise the craftsmanship, creativity, and awareness of the artistry of custom framing and wanted to give our all stars the opportunity to use their talents to raise awareness of a deserving subject of their choice.
Visit & Vote
Come see each all-star’s entry in our booth (#605) at this year’s WCAF Expo at the Paris Hotel, Las Vegas. You won’t be disappointed. The exceptional projects entered from these all-stars exemplify the very ethos of “Raise Your Glass”. Cast your vote and come back from 5-6 pm on Tuesday, January 29th for cocktails and to see who will win the Attendees’ Choice and Judges’ Choice Awards. The Grand Prize, Best in Show Judges’ Choice Award will go to the Tru Vue All-Star deemed the “best” by industry experts: Tim Franer, Rob Markoff, and John Ranes.
Not Attending?
Can’t make it to the WCAF Expo? No worries; we will also have an online component of the competition starting the week of February 4th to determine the Social Media Fan Favorite Award. In addition to the winner’s prize, Tru Vue will also make a $500 donation to the winner’s charity of choice.
Stay tuned for more details about online voting following the WCAF show and keep your eyes out for our upcoming social media posts in which each All-Star Framer answers the question, “How has being part of Tru Vue Framing competitions helped you raise your craft over the years?”
