West Coast Art and Frame Show attendees were treated to something a little different at this year’s Tru Vue® booth. While our booth showcased our annual Framing Competition finalist pieces and our latest product samples and information, we also gave custom framers an opportunity to become part of the art with an interactive, collaborative art installation featuring TruLife™ Anti-Reflective Acrylic, and the talents of several top resources in the art and custom framing industries.
Attendees who stopped by our booth had a great time choosing and adding their chosen piece to our octagonal tower that reached 3 feet in diameter and 4 feet in height. The 5’x 5’ interlocking panels were fabricated with TruLife Acrylic and featured colorful images from photographs and abstract paintings. Though puzzle-like in its construction, each participant selected his or her own piece in random order, making the construction truly original.
We couldn’t have done this without the collaboration of the following partners who influenced the idea and contributed their expertise:
- Barbara Markoff, who curated the artwork
- Photographer Larry Emerson, who contributed photographic images for the panels
- Third & Wall Art, the source for the abstract images
- Riot Creative Imaging, who handled the printing
TruLife is our revolutionary single-sided, anti-reflective, abrasion resistant acrylic, developed specifically for face/second surface mounting and direct printing on the substrate. It delivers the highest resolution viewing experience possible to truly reflect an artist’s vision and nothing else. Capturing the details with lifelike colors, incredible depth, and clarity it shows photography and fine art as it was meant to be viewed. TruLife is abrasion- and shatter-resistant, anti-static and offers 99% UV protection.
