Anti-Static Acrylic Coating
Immediately dissipates static making it safe for friable materials and minimizing cleaning.
State-of-the-Art Peace of Mind
Tru Vue anti-static sputter-coated acrylics are safe for use with friable and other static-sensitive media. This proprietary coating offers anti-static protection that actually exceeds that of glass and is engineered to immediately dissipate static charges, 2,000 times more than regular acrylic, significantly cutting down on cleaning and fabrication time, especially in high-traffic areas or high-volume work.
How It Works
Tru Vue has been using tin oxide as a component in its anti-reflective sputter coating for more than 20 years. Tin oxides are standard in the transparent conductive coatings industry, but are not widely used in low-index (anti-reflective) coatings. Using tin oxide creates oxygen vacancies that allow electrons to move in the thin film coating away from surfaces through a controlled discharge path. This prevents the accumulation of static electricity that could otherwise damage static sensitive objects. The thickness of the tin oxide layer deposited varies from product to product, making some anti-static with surface resistivity less than 1.0E+12 and 0.01-second static decay.
Benefits of Tru Vue Anti-Static Coatings
Tru Vue’s anti-static sputter coating is bonded to the acrylic substrate at an atomic level through its coating process. This anti-static performance is a permanent feature of Tru Vue’s sputter-coating process and will last for the life of the substrate. It does not wipe away with cleaning, need to be reapplied, or degrade over time.
Superior Safety
Anti-static protection exceeds that of glass and is engineered to immediately dissipate static charges, making it safe for use with static sensitive media.
Enhances Productivity
This proprietary coating does not attract dust, significantly cutting down on cleaning and fabrication time, especially in high-traffic areas and high-volume work.
Outstanding Durability
With superior resistance to environmental factors and engineered for permanence, Tru Vue’s anti-static coatings protect and enhance performance and longevity making it an ideal choice for a variety of applications.
