The dimensional nature of textile art gets the 3-D treatment in finalist one’s entry that uses reflective surfaces to enhance the depth of this shadowbox framing package.
The textile is mounted above an acrylic mirror backing and spacers, giving the art the appearance of floating. With mirrors at different dimensions, the piece is viewable from interesting perspectives.
Stacked frames transition the reflective surface beyond the interior of the framing package, featuring an inner, mirrored frame from the Larson Juhl Harlow collection and a Roma Nearly Blackwood frame. The glazing used is Optium Museum Acrylic®, an ideal choice for pieces that incorporate reflection into the design.
